    The 20th edition of Security Essen, the World Forum for Security and Fire Prevention kicks off today, the 25th of September, 2012. The bi-annual event will be held until Friday, the 28th of September. Hundreds of manufacturers of security systems and fire prevention products will participate at Europe’s leading trade show for this sector. Featured among these will be the latest surveillance cameras and the latest video surveillance systems.

  • The future of video surveillance

  • Security distributor Norbain’s UK operation sold to Newbury Investments (UK)

    In what has come as a huge surprise to the security industry, Norbain, among the largest distributors of security products has been bought by Newbury Investments of the UK. The apparently surprising sale of Norbain took place earlier this week, managed by administrators KPMG.

    Norbain has been one of Europe’s most successful distributors of electronic security products and solutions, with almost 9000 products in its CCTV portfolio, 3200+ access control products and 1800+ intruder detection equipment. Norbain’s international sales division exports security products to over 75 countries in 5 continents.

    The impact and implications of the Norbain sale will become a lot clearer in the course of the next few weeks.
