Security camera manufacturer Hikvision has moved up two places in the annual ranking of the Top 50 security companies in the world, according to recent news reports. Hikvision has now been placed 10th from its previous position of 12 last year, after registering a stupendous growth in the course of the year.
Hikvision has been in the news recently for numerous reasons-launch of new products or integration of its cameras and other products with products and software from other manufacturers. In fact, thousands of HD fixed and PTZ cameras from Hikvision were installed and used in the Shanghai’s Pudong District for the recently-concluded World Expo 2010. Its DS-8104HMI-B mobile DVR won the FSDays (Prague Fire & Security Days) Award at FSDays 2010, an international fair showing the latest trends in fire-fighting and security technologies, systems and services. The company also released its industry-leading embedded NVR – the DS-9616NI-SH at the Security Essen event held in Essen in October.
Earlier this year, market research company IMS placed Hikvision as the Number 1 supplier of DVR products worldwide, while ranking it Number 5 in the CCTV & video surveillance equipment category.
